In Putney, the \u201crunaway Christmas tree is back for 2023\u201d by <\/span>Positively Putney<\/strong><\/em><\/a>!<\/span> The “Positively Putney Business Improvement District (BID) is business-led and business-funded, working to improve and promote Putney town centre as a place to live, work, visit and invest” (source<\/strong><\/em><\/a>).
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

And while \u201ccausing (polite) chaos\u201d and bringing some joy to Putney, they call everyone to \u201cmake sure to take any snaps and tag [them] and <\/span>#shareourputney<\/span> if you spot it whilst out and about\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, we spotted the<\/span> runway tre<\/span>e in front of the<\/span> CityTre<\/strong>e<\/strong><\/a> of Wandsworth Borough Council<\/strong><\/a><\/em>! <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Thus, the runway tree should have enjoyed some fresh air. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

In Putney, London, the <\/span>CityTree<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/a> “makes<\/span> a <\/span>meal<\/span> of<\/span> Putney\u2019s<\/span> air<\/span> pollution<\/span>\u201d <\/span><\/span>(source<\/strong><\/em><\/a>) since 2020 <\/span>as<\/span> the<\/span> council<\/span> \u201c<\/span>has<\/span> installed<\/span> the<\/span> tree<\/span> in <\/span>Putney<\/span> High Street <\/span>near<\/span> its<\/span> junction<\/span> with<\/span> Putney<\/span> Bridge Road <\/span>as<\/span> part<\/span> of<\/span> a <\/span>major<\/span> ongoing<\/span> improvement<\/span> project<\/span> for<\/span> the<\/span> town<\/span>\u201d (source<\/strong><\/em><\/a>). Cabinet member for finance, corporate resources and climate sustainability, Cllr Rory O\u2019Broin, said in December 2020: \u201cI\u2019m delighted that this cutting-edge City Tree technology has come to Putney. We will monitor its effectiveness in absorbing air pollution on the High Street as part of our ongoing commitment to tackling climate change.\u201d (source<\/strong><\/em><\/a>)

In 2021, the Council summarized: “Residents and visitors to Putney High Street are benefiting from cleaner air thanks to an innovative air purification system” (source<\/strong><\/em><\/a>) as in its first ten weeks of operation, the pioneering device purified 1.3 million cubic metres of air.
