What do the only two German representatives – Leipzig and Rostock – have in common?<\/strong><\/p><\/h3><\/div>

Do you know the most livable cities in Europe? Do you know what the two German representatives have in common?<\/p>\n

As reported by SPIEGEL<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, the European Commission<\/a><\/strong><\/em> surveyed “71,153 people from 83 European cities to inquire about their satisfaction with their place of residence.” Between January and April 2023, “at least 839 residents were surveyed in each city.” Measurement included aspects such as infrastructure, healthcare, culture, security, environment, education, and work situation. Satisfaction with the inclusivity of the city was also taken into account.<\/p>\n

However, the ranking also yielded unexpected results,<\/p>\n

raising questions about where people truly thrive and<\/p>\n

find happiness in their living environments.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Ranked at number 1 is Zurich, situated “in the heart of Europe”<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong><\/em> serving as the “economic, cultural, and social center of Switzerland.”<\/a><\/strong><\/em> Surprisingly, alongside the Swiss capital and familiar names like “Copenhagen, Stockholm, or Geneva, which often appear in such rankings,”<\/a><\/strong><\/em> the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca stood out. As the second-largest city in Romania and the capital of Transylvania, it is recognized as a hotspot in the tech industry with promising job opportunities. (Source<\/a><\/strong><\/em>)<\/p>\n

The German representatives are Leipzig<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and Rostock<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. Both cities are considered “particularly livable”<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and have secured a place in the “Top Ten most livable cities in Europe 2023,”<\/a><\/strong><\/em> being the only German representatives with 95% and 94% of respondents respectively expressing satisfaction with their lives (Source<\/a><\/strong><\/em>).<\/p>\n

    However, “where there is light, there is also shadow”<\/a><\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 as the list also revealed “which places in Europe the residents are least satisfied with”<\/a><\/strong><\/em>: Palermo (Italy), Athens (Greece), Istanbul (Turkey), Tirana (Albania), and Naples (Italy) \u2013 “all locations in Southern European countries”<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.     It is also noteworthy that “in the Top Ten most livable places in the world in 2023, no German city was represented.”<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>

    But what do the two only German “most livable cities in Europe” have in common?<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
