Innovation Meets Industry: Last Wednesday, the MPI Conference 2026 opened its doors at NLND (Neuland) Berlin – an innovation campus in Neukölln that stands like no other for Berlin’s transformation: where innovation, production, and urban development converge. And right at the centre of it: Green City Solutions with our MossDule.

Under the motto “Ready for Takeoff – Scaling Innovations for Industry”, around 100 guests from business, politics, and science discussed how Berlin’s innovative strength can be more effectively channelled into industrial value creation. The event was organised by the Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe and Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH.

Industry and innovation combined? This is precisely where we position ourselves as Green City Solutions – both with our products and as part of a growing Berlin DeepTech community that demonstrates: sustainable innovation and industrial scaling are not contradictions. They depend on each other.

Experiencing the MossDule Live: Green Biotechnology at the Startup Showcase

As part of the NLND Startup Community, we had our own exhibition space – alongside WeldNova, Kalz and OUR GREENERY. Taking centre stage at our stand: the MossDule – our modular, regenerative bio air filter based on moss technology.

The MossDule demonstrates how, for example, the CityTree delivers the effect of 81 trees within a footprint of just 9 m² – waste-free, but with measurable impact.

On a campus that brings together prototyping, research, and production under one roof, the MossDule was more than an exhibit – it was a concrete example of how our green technology can be conceived and scaled for industrial application.

Research, Financing, Future – the Conference in Brief

The conference offered high-calibre insights into what makes Berlin’s innovation ecosystem so distinctive. Prof. Dr. Stefanie Molthagen-Schnöring, Vice President for Research and Transfer at HTW Berlin, demonstrated in her keynote how the transition from research results to industrial applications can be further optimised – and what role infrastructure, partnerships, and new transfer formats play in this process.

The panel discussion “Beyond Prototyping: What Berlin Needs for Greater Scaling” brought together perspectives from research, entrepreneurship, finance, and ecosystem development – a conversation that reinforced our conviction: the question is no longer whether green technologies can be scaled industrially, but how quick we can make it happen.

Further information on the event is available in the official recap by the Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe.

Innovation Needs Space

What the MPI Conference 2026 made clear once again: Places like NLND Berlin are essential to bringing the Masterplan to life. Spaces where startups, research institutions, and industry partners come together as equals – and turn ideas into real solutions.

We are proud to be part of this community. And we look forward to what comes next.

Urban climate adaptation, improving air quality, measurably changing the urban climate – these are not promises for the future. This is what we do every day. With moss. With data. With impact.
