Exchange, Inspiration, and Innovative Solutions
„Natural climate protection is both future-proofing and a location factor“: Around 150 participants from business, science, politics, and civil society discussed the practice of natural climate protection in Brandenburg. The focus was on topics such as regional value creation, healthy ecosystems, and the role of innovative companies for a sustainable future.
As summarized by Klimabündnis Brandenburg in the contribution with Britta Kornmesser and Wolfgang Roick:
“Today at the Natural Climate Protection Conference, we discussed how Brandenburg can leverage its strengths: 🌾 regional value creation, 🌍 healthy ecosystems, and ⚙️ innovative businesses.
One thing is clear: Economy, agriculture, environment, and climate protection must be considered and implemented together. Only then can we achieve future viability. 💪“
The conference offered a diverse program with exciting presentations, intensive workshops, and inspiring practical examples from the region. The “Marketplace of Opportunities” in the foyer was a vibrant meeting point for exchange and networking. Numerous initiatives and projects showcased how natural climate protection can be implemented in both urban and rural areas..
Moss Filters as Innovation for Urban Climate and Air Quality
We were also able to present our active moss filters and coolers in miniature format and introduce moss as a small but powerful high-performance plant. Many visitors took the opportunity to learn directly at our booth about the functionality and benefits of our green technologies for improved air quality and sustainable urban development.
Even in advance, our CIO und Mitgründer Liang Wu, who attended in Cottbus, emphasized:
“Innovative climate protection begins where technology strengthens and supports nature – that’s exactly what we demonstrate with our moss filters. I look forward to presenting our green solutions and engaging in dialogue with you about the future of natural climate protection.“

Experiencing Sustainability with All Senses
Moss in a different way: A special highlight was the sustainable food art by artist Anja Fiedler, who made the importance of healthy ecosystems tangible with creations such as peat pralines, coal bread with lichen butter, and walnut olives.
Together for Natural Climate Protection
As stated by Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg: “The conference impressively showed: Brandenburg can combine economic strength and ecological responsibility as a pioneering region – if natural climate protection is understood as a driver of innovation and politically supported.”
We would like to thank all participants and organizers for the successful event and the invitation, and we look forward to the next steps towards greener, more livable cities.
“Natural climate protection is not a nice-to-have, but future policy. Now, the Ministries of Economy and Environment must act together. Natural climate protection must no longer be a marginal issue – it is the key to resilience, value creation, and future security in the region”, concludes Magdalena Eder from Klimabündnis Brandenburg.
