climAD and 11 brands make a statement for sustainable out-of-home advertising

11 brands. 1 shared message. 77 million contacts: For Earth Overshoot Day 2026, climAD and eleven sustainability-focused brands brought their messages to green CityBreeze screens. This is how digital out-of-home advertising, moss filters and a fresh-air concept come together.

11 brands, one message: Making sustainability visible

Earth Overshoot Day was around three weeks ago, but its message remains as relevant as ever: On 30 July, humanity had, in purely mathematical terms, used up the natural resources that our planet can regenerate within one year. Since then, we have been living on ecological credit.

This is precisely where the joint climAD campaign came in. From 22 July to 2 August, eleven brands raised awareness of more responsible resource consumption in 30 shopping centres across Germany. The participating brands were DJH, every®, GLS Bank, Oatly, ORTOVOX, refurbed, Schwarzwald Tourismus, StrollMe, Swapfiets, VAUDE and Voelkel.

With a total reach of around 77 million contacts, the message was placed where people go about their daily lives. Further coverage of the campaign was published by IDOOH, invidis and Campaign Germany.

Out-of-home advertising with added value

The campaign creatives ran on climAD’s sustainable advertising network, displayed on CityBreeze screens by Green City Solutions. They combine digital out-of-home advertising with our fresh-air-concept: The integrated moss filter cleans and cools the surrounding air passing through the unit – contributing to improved air quality and enhanced comfort in urban spaces.

During a 10-second spot, a CityBreeze cleans more than 4,000 litres of particulate-polluted air. In this way, sustainable out-of-home advertising not only creates awareness for brands and socially relevant issues, but can also make a tangible contribution to improving the urban climate.

Together for fresh air and liveable cities

Earth Overshoot Day highlights the urgent need to use resources more consciously. At the same time, the climAD campaign shows that sustainable choices and solutions already exist – and deserve to be seen.

With our moss-based biofilters, we create fresh-air zones in urban spaces. climAD complements this impact with a communication platform that brings brands and their sustainability messages to city audiences with broad reach. Because liveable cities need both: tangible impact on the ground and visibility for change.
