“What transforms cities into thriving ecosystems?”
Just over a week ago, our CEO and co-founder Peter Sänger participated in the “Nature” TransMission at the German Sustainability Day (Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitstag). Together with the Mayor of Wuppertal, Uwe Schneidewind, and moderated by Judith Rakers, he discussed urban biodiversity and climate adaptation strategies.
“In the face of global crises, we must not stop addressing the advancing climate change and the still largely overlooked loss of biodiversity. Our very foundation of life is in acute danger!”, he warned emphatically.
We are all the more grateful to the 17th German Sustainability Day (17. Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitstag) and the German Sustainability Award (Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis) for providing the opportunity “to take the stage and share insights on the vital role mosses can play in our ecosystems”, Peter Sänger continued.

“Preserving biodiversity is a monumental challenge that has not yet received the attention it deserves. This makes it all the more critical to spotlight the issue”, he emphasized ahead of the event.
„SET A SIGNAL! Leadership in challenging Times.“
The 17th German Sustainability Day, held at the Maritim Hotel Düsseldorf, brought together numerous stakeholders from business, politics, and civil society to discuss the challenges and opportunities of sustainable development. One of the event’s highlights was the presentation of the German Sustainability Award (Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis), which honors outstanding achievements in the field of sustainability. The award ceremony celebrated companies and initiatives employing innovative approaches to promote ecological, social, and economic sustainability. The day served as a platform to exchange ideas and best practices to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society.
This year, the German Sustainability Day set a record attendance: “Nearly 3,000 guests attended the two-day conference and the award ceremonies in Düsseldorf.”
