Innovation Needs Room to Grow
East German start-ups and scale-ups are developing solutions to the challenges of our time – from sustainable urban development to technological sovereignty. Our CEO and co-founder, Peter Sänger, also attended the Industry Dialogue (“Branchendialog”) at the Federal Ministry of Finance. He was there “at the invitation of Federal Minister of Finance Lars Klingbeil and the Federal Government Commissioner for Eastern Germany, State Minister Elisabeth Kaiser”, as representatives from politics, investment and entrepreneurship came together to share their perspectives
Good Ideas Need the Right Framework Conditions
The central focus of the dialogue was the question of how e junge Unternehmen die Finanzierunyoung companies can secure the financing they need to grow. The Federal Ministry of Finance emphasised that: East Germany offers strong conditions for the companies of tomorrow, including universities, research institutions, industrial expertise and a strong SME sector. According to the Federal Ministry of Finance, 600 new companies were founded there in the first half of 2026.
At the Industry Dialogue, Federal Minister of Finance Lars Klingbeil called for what he described: We need “a new era of entrepreneurship“, as reported by the Berliner Zeitung. “The fact that Germany does not have any tech giants is not due to a lack of talent or ideas”, Klingbeil said. “The ecosystem simply does not currently allow companies to grow. That needs to change.”
