Ten years striving for the best city of tomorrow
We had and have reasons to celebrate: a decadeGreen City Solutions! At the end of March, our founders Peter Sänger and Liang Wu were able to raise a toast to the now ten-year anniversary of the company.
On this occasion, Cornelia Bewernick, Head of the IHK Regional Center Dahme-Spreewald (IHK-Regionalcenters Dahme-Spreewald), and Tilo Hönisch, Head of the Promotion Advisory Department at ILB (Förderberatung bei der ILB), made sure to personally visit us at our headquarters in Bestensee, Brandenburg, to congratulate us and ceremoniously present the anniversary certificate from the IHK Cottbus.
The certificate, received by our founders Peter Sänger and Liang Wu, will be given a place of honor in our company premises, which bear moss names, such as “Silver Moss”.
“We extend our gratitude to all pioneers, supporters, customers, investors, current and former employees, friends, and families for their continuous support, loyalty, trust, and joy in the work and in the shared journey towards the best possible and most livable city of the future,” said co-founder and CEO Peter Sänger on the anniversary. “Of course, one sometimes wonders where the 10 years have gone, but what matters is that we were right back then: the climate is changing, and we see it more clearly today than ever before. And that’s exactly why we developed technology and products early on that will now help us adapt to the consequences of climate change – there is still time.”

Ten Years of Green City Solutions – Research, Progress, Fresh Air
During the visit, Peter Sänger (CEO) and Liang Wu (CIO) explained the business idea, provided “insights into the 10 years of company development, and reported on team building” to the two visitors. Because the “green-tech company has a clear vision: Clear and fresh air in urban spaces”.
For this purpose, the foundation stone for Green City Solutions was laid in Dresden on March 25, 2014, by our founding team. The first years were characterized by research and pioneering work, the development of prototypes, and “understanding the market”.

Indeed, it was also a geographical journey – from our study and founding city Dresden to the start-up metropolis Berlin and further to Bestensee, to give our drive the necessary space and to become the best moss manufacturer in the world.
These “creative and innovative solutions for improving air quality and linking digitization with sustainable solutions” not only enthused the IHK Cottbus but Green City Solutions also had the honor of receiving “considerable media attention and several national and international awards” and is “partner for municipalities, shopping centers, and large companies”. So, we are also pleased this year to be recognized and awarded as one of the “Most Innovative Companies in Germany” by Capital and Statista in the “Energy & Environment” category.
And yes – we not only love mosses, we love nature in general. Thus, we will continue to support reforestation projects, tree plantations, and the implementation of greening projects in cities, rural areas, and in between. And for our birthday, we’ll gladly plant new trees ourselves.
