WallBreeze Takes “Urban Re:set” to the Next Level
This summer, we are returning to Dresden – the city where Green City Solutions was founded, where our co-founders studied, where everything began. That makes being part of Urban Re:set at the Kulturpalast Dresden all the more meaningful to us.
“Dresden is not just any city to us – it is our founding city. It was here, as students, that we first developed the idea that would become Green City Solutions. Ten years after our participation in the science exhibition on Neumarkt, being back on the Kulturpalast forecourt with the WallBreeze is more than a project launch – it is a homecoming. And we are truly delighted to be working alongside such strong partners to create something that people in this city can genuinely feel.”

“Urban Re:set” – A Project Continues to Grow
The Kulturpalast forecourt has been a place of transformation since at least 2023. Through projects such as “Luftwurzeln”, “City Sounds” and “Pop up Green”, the Dresdner Philharmonie, together with partners including perspektive.grün, has demonstrated how a sealed urban square can become a “place of encounter, of lingering, and of conscious city life”. Urban Re:set takes this vision further – with a holistic concept that integrates sustainability, urban design and community engagement.
“Urban Re:set reflects our commitment to viewing the Kulturpalast not in isolation from its city. The forecourt is public space – and therefore a place where questions about our future can become visible and open to discussion. The fact that perspektive.grün, academia, the city administration and other partners are jointly testing concrete solutions here makes this project especially valuable to us.”

“A green intervention for greater quality of life in the city”: This summer takes things a step further, as two WallBreeze units are docked onto the large planting containers on the forecourt. They complement the existing vegetation with the intelligent moss-based benefits of Green City Solutions’ technology.
“Urban Re:set thrives on the collaboration of many partners. The addition of Green City Solutions’ moss technology this year is, for us, a logical and exciting evolution of the concept – towards an even more impactful form of urban greening.”

Heritage Protection Meets Climate Adaptation – Funded as a Model Project
The Kulturpalast forecourt is no ordinary site: sealed, listed, central. That is precisely what makes it an ideal model for climate-resilient urban transformation. The Free State of Saxony agrees: Urban Re:set was selected as one of four Saxon projects under the funding programme “Model Projects for Climate-Resilient Urban Transformation” by the Saxon State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, as reported by Süddeutsche Zeitung.
Infrastructure Minister Regina Kraushaar (CDU) put it succinctly in an MDR Sachsenspiegel report:
“Bringing the beautiful and the useful together into a living environment that allows people to live better, to feel good – I believe people instantly sense when a building has architectural quality. Because they immediately notice: this is a good place to be”.
That is precisely the ambition of Urban Re:set – and precisely the ambition of the WallBreeze: to improve air quality, reduce heat, and enhance the quality of the public space. Measurably and visibly.

A Project with a Future
This summer’s installation is deliberately conceived as a pilot phase – with the goal of repeating and further developing it in 2027.
We will be there. And we look forward to demonstrating, right here in our founding city, what is already possible today. Small footprint, big impact – and that applies well beyond Dresden. Whether it’s an inner-city square, a cultural institution or a public green space: get in touch and we’ll show you how the WallBreeze can work for your location.
