A Breath of Fresh Air and Advertising
for the Neumarkt Galerie Cologne

Since October, visitors to the Neumarkt Galerie Cologne can enjoy a green oasis combined with refreshing information and a pleasant breeze — rather than the gloomy autumn weather and gray surroundings. Located in the heart of Cologne, the shopping center now features a fresh air filter with a large-format screen, welcoming passersby, shop owners, and restaurateurs. This innovation not only improves the overall quality of stay but also offers valuable additional benefits through CityBreeze technology.

First CityBreeze for the cathedral city of Cologne

With an annual footfall of approximately 8 million visitors, the Neumarkt is a prime hotspot for retailers, restaurateurs, service providers, and shoppers alike. At Green City Solutions and climAD, we are thrilled to establish this new location in a Top 10 city in Germany, surrounded by a vibrant and dynamic environment. This addition contributes to the continued growth of climAD ’s sustainable advertising network — both figuratively and literally. These eye-catching advertising pillars with added functionality already deliver clean air and inspiring content to visitors and residents in over 18 cities with more than 41 displays. They provide retailers, shop operators, and restaurateurs with a truly sustainable advertising option.

Sustainable Advertising with Added Value

All climAD displays feature a large moss filter on their reverse side, simultaneously purifying and cooling the surrounding air. This reduces energy consumption, and every campaign brings fresh air into the city—and the shopping center. During a 10-second advertising spot, over 4,000 liters of polluted air are purified. Additionally, the natural cooling effect can lower ambient temperatures by up to 4°C on hot days. This refreshing breeze invites passersby to take a moment to pause, while lending brands an authentic “green” image.

Sustainability in the Real Estate Industry

In light of climate change and stricter sustainability requirements, companies in the real estate sector must pivot and find innovative solutions to minimize the environmental and health impacts of their buildings. Topics such as soil sealing, air quality, and employee health are increasingly important and were key focus areas at industry events showcasing solutions that merge ecological responsibility with economic benefits.

For Apleona Real Estate Management, “sustainability and ESG factors play a central role in property management. Ecological, social, and governance criteria (ESG) are indispensable elements of real estate management.”
