Green Innovation in the Heart of Bremen
We are pleased to announce another pioneering installation of our CityBreeze: At Einkaufspark Duckwitz (EDU) in Bremen, we have installed two of our innovative bio-digital air filtration and cooling systems in the outdoor entrance area. These not only enhance the quality of stay for visitors but also send a clear signal in favor of sustainability and forward-looking communication.
“EDU” is a modern local retail center in the Neustadt district, around 5 km south of Bremen’s city center, and is known for making shopping a “neighborhood pleasure”. It offers a range that “eaves little to be desired”. The long-term integration of our CityBreeze marks another step toward making this shopping experience even more attractive and greener.

A Fresh Breeze at the Entrances of EDU Bremen
The two multifunctional units have been strategically positioned in the outdoor area, under the canopy on the left and right sides of the entrance. They are not only visual highlights – they also improve the microclimate and create new spaces for visitors to linger, ideally complementing the existing infrastructure.
Norbert Fels, Center Manager of EDU Bremen, highlights the benefits of the installation:
“The two CityBreeze units at our entrances not only create new, attractive seating areas, they also noticeably enhance the on-site experience. Visitors benefit from cooled, green zones where they can take a break, enjoy a snack, or wait for friends. This aligns perfectly with our goal of making shopping at EDU a ‘neighborhood pleasure’. The moss modules also underline our commitment to ESG and sustainability – visibly supported by the integrated LEDs in the center’s design.”
However, the moss-based filters and cooling systems can do even more.

climAD at EDU: Digital Communication for Bremen and Its Tenants
Another highlight of the installation is the integration of climAD, our digital – and Germany’s first green – DOOH advertising network. This innovative combination enables EDU Bremen to communicate relevant information in a highly effective and modern way.
Norbert Fels emphasizes the importance of climAD:
“At the same time, visitors can stay informed: We use climAD to communicate center news, events and tenant offers directly in high-traffic areas. This creates real added value for our tenants, strengthens the visibility of the stores and ensures that information about promotions and services appears in real time exactly where it has the greatest impact. For us, climAD is therefore a powerful tool for connecting community and retail even more closely at Einkaufspark Duckwitz.”

Long-Term Partnerships for a Climate-Resilient Bremen
The installation at Einkaufspark Duckwitz marks another milestone in our collaboration with the owner, GRR GARBE Retail Real Estate GmbH, with whom we have already delivered several projects in the field of sustainable retail real estate. With CityBreeze and the climAD advertising network, EDU Bremen is now also setting a visible example for ESG principles and the future-ready development of the site. The partnership with GRR Garbe reflects long-term thinking and a shared vision for a greener, more livable city.
A fresh, green breeze is now flowing through multiple locations across Bremen.
We look forward to delivering further projects that sustainably enhance urban spaces and modern shopping destinations – for visitors, tenants and the wider community.
