Commitment to Sustainable Innovation

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Michael Kellner, Member of the German Bundestag for Bündnis 90/Die Grünen and spokesperson for energy policy within his parliamentary group, to Green City Solutions in Bestensee. The focus of our exchange was our innovative moss technology, which makes a significant contribution to clean air and sustainable climate adaptation in urban areas.

Joint Commitment to Sustainable Innovation

Michael Kellner has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2021. In December, he was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and in January 2022, he additionally took on the role of the Federal Government’s Commissioner for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. In autumn 2022, Michael Kellner also became the Federal Government’s contact person for the cultural and creative industries.
Since the 2025 federal election, he has served as spokesperson for energy policy for the Green parliamentary group, is a member of the Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy, and a deputy member of the Committee on Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety.

His core topics include transforming the economy towards greater sustainability and climate protection, strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), innovation and digitalization, as well as promoting participation processes within society and his party.

This is exactly where our goals align: While Michael Kellner works at the political level to create the framework for a green transformation, Green City Solutions develops concrete bio-digital products that make cities greener and more livable, and the air cleaner and cooler.

The goal: actively shaping the transition towards sustainable, future-proof urban spaces.

The effects of climate change are becoming increasingly noticeable in our cities and communities. Heat waves, particulate matter pollution, and declining air quality present major challenges for municipalities and businesses. At Green City Solutions, our vision is to actively improve the urban microclimate with natural solutions. Our moss modules filter fine dust, cool the surrounding air and create green oases in the heart of the city.
